May 11, 2018 - Wine Tasting Tomorrow & New Updates!
We're creating a email list that will focus specifically on our wines and wine related updates. So every week we will send an email about the upcoming Saturday tasting, and any special tastings that may be happening. We'll be sending it to our general list of subscribers for the next few weeks, then those updates will only be sent who signed up for the wine newsletter. If you would like to join that group and receive wine related updates, click here!
Special Natural Wine Tasting: 6:30PM, May 23rd
If you haven't noticed the many green stickers (which signify organic/biodynamic farming and winemaking) on many of our bottles, we really like wines made in a way that respects our environment and tradition. In addition to the health benefits of organic wine, many "natural" wines also taste better and reflect where they are made since they aren't adding extra color and they're growing healthier grapes!
To showcase these wines, we're hosting special wine tasting on May 23rd, in partnership with a local KETO diet group. If you would like to come, please RSVP by Clicking Here.
A Bonus Tasting Tomorrow!
In addition to the tasting outlined below, we are also sampling the new Pampelonne flavors! Drop by anytime between 12-4 to try Pempelonne's Black Cherry Bicicletta, Negroni Sbagliato, and Watermelon Americano. They come in individual cans and in 4 packs, so they're perfect for Mother's Day!
"Feliz Día de la Madre" Tasting!
This weekend, we are celebrating Mother's Day with a series of (mostly) South American wines! While there's a reason Malbec is so closely associated with South American wine, there's so many other interesting reds and whites being made there too, and most of it is at a fantastic price!
Prisma Sauvignon Blanc - I'm still freaking out about how warm it is outside. With it's flavors of grapefruit and citrus balanced by bright minerality, this is like summer in a glass.
A Los Viñateros Bravos, Granitico Blanco - This is another refreshing wine that's a blend of Moscatel and Sémillon. This incredibly complex wine has a mixture of citrus, floral, and mineral flavors. Plus it's organic!
Victor Hugo Rosé Blend - There's so many different styles of rosé! This one is a classic American style with a blend of Malbec, Merlot, Zinfandel, and Syrah, which is fermented in neutral oak. Victor Hugo is a tiny winery with a great intuition for balance while remaining firmly Californian.
Le Vigne di Alice Sparkling Rosé - I recognize I slightly stretched the whole South American theme with the 2 rosés. But they're both so good, how can I resist?! This sparkling rosé is a blend of Glera and Marzemino that is trying to bring some respect back to Prosecco country.
Gen del Alma Ji Ji Ji - This is the most quirky of all of the wines this week. This blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Malbec is meant to be a fun, unique style of wine that's isn't satisfied to rest on its novelty.
Reunion Malbec - I know a Malbec isn't unexpected for a South American tasting, but how can you not do a Malbec?! This Malbec is classic in that it is deeply colored, rich, and all about the fruit. Just what you need when cooking some hamburgers. . .
Mariposa Red Blend - This 50/50 blend of Syrah and Merlot is another dark, rich wine, but it's light enough to be opened during the summer! Plus it's organic and dry farmed too!
Wine I like this week: Gewurztraminer! It takes some getting used too, but it's so good! It's super floral and tastes just like ripe Lychee.
